About the Department

The Department of Physical Education was established in our college in 2016, initially with two guest lecturers. Over time, the department has made significant progress and now boasts a well-equipped laboratory with a wide range of sports equipment. The department actively participates in various sports activities at the university level, representing our college with pride. We are particularly proud of our achievement in becoming champions in the inter-college football games organized by West Bengal State University. Throughout its existence, the department has organized numerous games, sports events, and athletics meets, providing ample opportunities for students to showcase their talent and skills. As a result, some of our students have been selected to represent the WBSU football team and athletics. The field of Physical Education offers a multitude of career opportunities for our students. Graduates can pursue careers in the SSC (Sports and Youth Services), Police Services, Defence, and even private English medium schools, where physical education instructors are in demand. Currently, the department is supported by two faculty members designated as SACT. However, recognizing the growing demand and importance of the subject, there are plans to expand the department in the near future. By continuously providing quality education, organizing sports events, and supporting students in their career aspirations, the Department of Physical Education aims to nurture well-rounded individuals who can excel both in the field of sports and in various professional avenues.
