DEPARTMENT OF SANSKRIT
About the Department
The Department of Sanskrit, established in 1956, recognizes Sanskrit as a scientific language. Initially offering a general course, the department's success led to the introduction of an Honours course in 2004, fulfilling the ambitions of the students. In its early stages, the department faced a shortage of Assistant Professors. However, by 2017, all Assistant Professor positions were filled, enriching the department and ensuring a quality educational experience for the students. The faculty members wholeheartedly contribute their best efforts to serve the students' academic needs. We take pride in the achievements of our students, who have successfully established careers in various sectors such as school services, college services, public service commissions, and business sectors (both public and private), and some have even pursued research activities in different universities after qualifying NET/SET exams. The dedicated faculty members tirelessly focus on shaping students' careers and personal growth. Additionally, the department organizes departmental tours, and a well-stocked library provides students with helpful resources for their studies. Students actively participate in various departmental activities and programs, including class seminars, wall magazine publications, fresher's welcomes, farewell events, and reunions. They also celebrate Teachers’ Day with great respect, acknowledging the importance of their mentors. In conclusion, the Department of Sanskrit remains committed to promoting the scientific aspects of the Sanskrit language and empowering students to achieve success in their chosen fields. The faculty's devotion and the student’s active engagement contribute to a vibrant and enriching educational experience in the department.
